Thistle Linocut Print

from $55.00

Thistle is a variable limited edition linocut print pulled by hand using Caligo Safe-Wash oil-based ink. Following traditional printmaking practice, each individual piece is hand-signed, titled, and numbered in pencil on the front.

As the first print in an ongoing botanical series celebrating native Irish flowers, this original design honors the landscapes, folklore, and natural heritage of Ireland and the wider Celtic world. The composition highlights the thistle’s balance of softness and defense—delicate blooms protected by sharp, intricate leaves.

This exclusive botanical release features two distinct variations:

  • Black & White (6" × 8"): An edition of just 6 impressions, printed on traditional archival printmaking paper.

  • Hand-Painted Watercolor (5" × 7"): An edition of 5 impressions, printed on premium archival watercolor paper and individually hand-painted, making every piece unique.

Each print is inked and hand-burnished in my studio, resulting in subtle variations that reflect the beautiful, authentic nature of traditional relief printing.
